Shawn and I have had an interesting year to say the least. We had an amazing honeymoon cruise and Disney made it truly magical. I have been working very hard to finish up my last year of pharmacy school. We rode together on RAGBRAI and spent some extra time at the lake while I did my rotation at Spencer Hospital. We lost my grandmother in November and welcomed our new niece Dylan in January. Shawn got a new job and I have accepted a residency position at the Iowa City VA. It is difficult to cover all of the great things we have done in the past year in such a short post.
As for the topic of most interest, Shawn will be getting a new aortic valve May 20th at the Cleveland Clinic. I will be updating our blog throughout our journey to keep everyone up to date and also to maintain our privacy throughout the recovery process. We hope everyone can respect our wishes to refer to our blog for information regarding Shawn's health status and refrain from too many phone calls while he is trying to rest and recover. We will do our best to provide the details on how we are doing during this time. We are very grateful for all of the support and prayers we have been receiving since we decided to proceed with the surgery and are so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family in our lives.
